gaza in our hearts

We are proud to share that splidu and its wonderful hosts have been honored by Dubai Cares for our joint participation in the recent ‘Gaza In Our Hearts’ campaign. This award, accepted by splidu co-founder Lars Leiendecker on behalf of all participants, recognized the collective effort made during the Ramadan fundraising initiative, where everyone came together to donate a portion of their supper club sales to support emergency relief for the people of Gaza.

Participating hosts in this meaningful initiative included Haya Bishouty from Haya's Kitchen, Gabriela Chamorro from Girl and the Goose, Kiki Alvarez from Mesa by Kiki, Dragan Susa from Kouzina, Kuv Sharma from Kuv's Secret Supper Club, Andrea Melendez and Esteban Torregrosa from Don Bueno, and splidu. Our remarkable hosts showed immense generosity by donating part of their revenue to help provide critical support to those affected by the crisis and we couldn’t be more proud.

"We are truly honored to receive this recognition from Dubai Cares. This initiative resonates deeply with us, especially knowing the gravity of the situation in Gaza," said Lars, co-founder of splidu. "Our team and hosts were united in our mission to make a meaningful impact, ensuring that our contributions reach those who need them most."

The funds raised through the ‘Gaza In Our Hearts’ campaign were directed towards the distribution of hot meals, food baskets, and emergency shelter tents through a strategic partnership with Anera (American Near East Refugee Aid). Anera has been working closely with the United Nations and other key partners to open aid corridors into Gaza, delivering essential life-saving support.

splidu is committed to not only creating extraordinary dining experiences but also to fostering a spirit of giving and togetherness within the community. This campaign is just one example of how the splidu family—hosts, chefs, and guests—can unite for a greater cause.
